New Medicare PPO Plan for Retirees beginning April 1
On April 1, 2022, the Indemnity PPO Plan for Medicare enrollees was upgraded to the Anthem Medicare Preferred PPO Plan (“Anthem Preferred PPO”) through Anthem Blue Cross.
The Anthem Preferred PPO plan provides several benefits our Medicare enrollees had been requesting, including coverage for vision exams and eyewear, hearing tests and hearing aids, and SilverSneakers health club benefits, that were not available under the Indemnity Medical Plan.
In addition, the Anthem Preferred PPO plan will have lower out-of-pocket costs for many services, and some services will no longer be subject to a deductible.
Prescription coverage (through Optum) is not affected by this change.
More information is available in the Anthem Advantage Introduction and the Anthem Advantage FAQ located in the Documents section of the website.
